Cedars International Academy offers a differentiated curriculum for students of all ability levels, including accelerated academic programs to match student readiness. The curriculum is fully aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and is delivered in classes with small teacher student ratios. With a focus on academics and technology, we provide our students with diverse and dynamic learning experiences.

In addition to traditional academic subjects, all students receive instruction in art, music, Spanish, gardening, computers, and physical education. Peer groups led by the school counselor offer students training in essential social skills such as dealing with feelings, managing stress, and solving problems. A variety of after school activities offer additional opportunities for social development and experiential learning in a fun and creative environment.

Cedars has established a child-oriented but challenging environment designed to help students achieve their full potential. Using positive reinforcement strategies, the staff encourages students to show initiative, take responsibility, and build life-long learning habits. Cedars encourages a strong community spirit by emphasizing the basic school values, “The Six B’s“:  Be kind. Be safe. Be cooperative. Be respectful. Be peaceful. Be a lifelong learner.

Cedars differs from most public schools in several important ways. We offer small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios. We require active parental participation throughout the school year. We require that students wear uniforms, taking the focus off of designer labels and placing it on the school experience. As with traditional public schools, our teachers are certified, and many have a Masters-level education. Cedars offers the federal free/reduced lunch program and serves both breakfast and lunch. A separate after school care program is offered at hourly or monthly rates and includes snacks.
